Although his training practice is his main game, it is important to keep a 'sandbox' organization where he can try out his new ideas and practice the same skills he is trying to impart. Impractical? not at all if the will is there. Ethical? I gues...Thats' a really intriguing perspective. I guess all of us explore each of these intelligences in one way or the other, but most of us go through this unwillingly and/or passively.

For instance, a manager trying to give negative performance feedback, is in a way honing his/her interpersonal intelligence. But it is not really an enjoyable process and is highly likely that the manager does not view this as a learning experience, unless he/she is strongly right brained. "It is my job, so let me just get done with it quickly... and I hope this guy dos not quit or do anything crazy that would make me look bad"... may be the manager's thought process.

However, if this opportunity to offer performance feedback can be positioned to the manager as a learning opportunity to improve his/her interpersonal intelligence, the outcome may be very different for all parties concerned.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12987479539144785103noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7893732971273117146.post-39294077550653081832011-10-11T08:41:21.293+05:302011-10-11T08:41:21.293+05:30Very relevant and pertinent questions indeed. One possible approach could be to solicit responses from participants. i.e. just after summarizing a learning, urge the participants to reflect on recent events where similar learnings could be applicable and elaborate on the same. This could lead to a very engaging conversation, possibly a healthy debate as other participants may add their two bits (we want to look good as well you see...) on how there is a better example in recent times that exemplifies the learnings. You just smile and enjoy the ride... a totally win-win situation, or so I think.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12987479539144785103noreply@blogger.com
